Request for Proposal (RFP)

1. Introduction

C20 South Africa is seeking proposals from qualified software development firms to design, develop, and deploy a cross-platform mobile and web application for the C20 South Africa Summit on 12 November 2025. The application will serve as an interactive platform for summit attendees, providing access to event schedules, exhibitions, and multimedia content, while reflecting the summit theme: Advancing Inclusive Growth, Social Justice, and Human-Centered Development.

The goal of this RFP is to identify a vendor capable of delivering a high-quality, user-friendly, and accessible application within the required timeline.

2. Scope of Work

The selected vendor will be responsible for:

1. Application Design & Development
   • Cross-platform mobile app (iOS and Android) and web interface
   • Innovative UI/UX design consistent with summit branding
   • Authentication with phone number verification
   • Push notifications for announcements and updates
   • Event schedule, exhibition, and multimedia modules (including embedded YouTube content)
2. Hosting & Domains
   • Setup and management of hosting (recommended: T25 Shared Hosting Package)
   • Domain registration and DNS configuration
   • SSL certificate installation and website security
3. Deployment & Maintenance
   • Deployment to Apple App Store and Google Play Store
   • Ongoing maintenance and support as needed
4. Admin Dashboard & Analytics
   • Content management system for events, exhibitors, and videos
   • Analytics on user engagement, session attendance, and content interaction

3. Technical Requirements

• Cross-platform compatibility (iOS, Android, Web)
• Scalable backend using Laravel framework
• Integration of multimedia content (YouTube videos)
• User authentication and push notification system
• Accessibility compliance (screen readers, high contrast mode, scalable fonts)
• Security measures for data protection and privacy

4. Submission Requirements

Vendors must submit proposals that include:

1. Company Profile & Experience
   • Overview of the company and key personnel
   • Previous experience with similar projects
2. Proposed Solution & Methodology
   • Technical approach
   • UI/UX design concept
   • Development, testing, and deployment plan
3. Cost Estimation
   • Itemized cost breakdown for development, hosting, deployment, and maintenance
4. Project Timeline
   • Key milestones from project initiation to deployment before 12 November 2025
5. References
   • At least 2 relevant references from previous clients

5. Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on: – Technical capability and experience – Quality of the proposed solution – Ability to meet the timeline – Cost-effectiveness – References and past performance
