Purpose of the Role
The ABYM Male Facilitator will be responsible for engaging Adolescent Boys and Young Men (ABYM) aged 15–24 through social and behavioural change interventions within the AYP (Adolescent and Young People) HIV prevention programme. The role involves facilitating structured group sessions, promoting positive masculinity, reducing harmful gender norms, and encouraging uptake of HIV prevention services.

Duties and Responsibilities
•⁠ ⁠Enroll eligible ABYM participants into the AYP programme to meet daily, monthly, and quarterly targets.
•⁠ ⁠Plan, coordinate, and facilitate structured interventions including:
o One Man Can
o Grassroot Soccer
•⁠ ⁠Facilitate dialogues and engagement sessions with ABYM and Male Sexual Partners (MSPs).
•⁠ ⁠Build rapport, trust, and healthy boundaries with young male participants.
•⁠ ⁠Promote responsible behaviour, life skills, and access to health services.
•⁠ ⁠Support mobilisation activities for outreach and service uptake.
•⁠ ⁠Submit weekly reports on group sessions, progress, and challenges.
•⁠ ⁠Be available to work some weekends or outside normal working hours as required.
•⁠ ⁠Perform any additional duties assigned by the Supervisor or Programme Manager.

Minimum Requirements
•⁠ ⁠Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent NQF level qualification.
•⁠ ⁠Strong facilitation skills and understanding of youth group dynamics.
•⁠ ⁠Trained & Certified in HIV counselling and testing, with 2 years’ relevant experience.
•⁠ ⁠Basic counselling skills will be an advantage.
•⁠ ⁠Valid driver’s licence will be an advantage.
•⁠ ⁠Conduct HIV testing services and ensure proper documentation of programme activities.
•⁠ ⁠Experience working with adolescent boys and young men preferred.
